A SEQUEL to Ghost Rider is in the works with a view to persuading Nicolas Cage to reprise his role as the demonic hero.
David Goyer is in talks to create a story that could be based upon a script he developed 10 years ago, according to Variety.
It is not yet known whether the first film's writer-director Mark Steven Johnson will be involved. But Cage is an avid fan of the Marvel comics upon which the film is based, and would almost certainly be keen to ride again.
The Ghost Rider revival is the latest in a flurry of new projects announced by studios in the wake of Disney's buy-out of Marvel Entertainment.
Fox is rebooting Fantastic Four as well as a Wolverine sequel and several X-Men spin-offs and a new version of Daredevil while in addition to Ghost Rider, Sony is having scripts penned for Spider-Man 5 and 6.
