You know, I wish I had the answer. I can tell you, he's dramatically changed in the last few years. From a physical stand-point, his interaction with fans, to how he conducts interviews, to his acting in movies.

I'm not sure if the change is for the good or bad - from a fan's perspective. As I look back though, as of late, I just can't ever recall Nic looking so sad, withdrawn and tormented.

You´re right Tracy... He´s developing into his own mellow persona, and who are we to jugde? But still... it hurts seeing his tormented eyes... I wish he could find some peace of mind. Hopefully sometime in the near future.

Dear Tracy, nice to hear form you again.
You are the person who see our NIC the most frequently - i mean in natura - not from the TV, or net news. Therefore I highly appreciate your point of view. And I have to conclude, really NIC is missing smile. for sure.

Interesting point Mara - It could also be, he's NOT aging gracefully because he looks so unhappy these days. Who knows and I guess it's really none of my business - YIKES!

Though, you know, I remember when Nic used to smile when he took pictures with fans. Google the early pics, he was ALWAYS smiling with fans. Not this somber look he gives off as of late. I can also remember when women would want to take a picture with Nic, he would at least put his arm around them - like their shoulder - like most celebrities do... I'm not sure if he feels like he's disrespecting Alice or what???

Lately, he looks very distant with his fans - like he really doesn't want to be bothered. HOWEVER, he still obliges by taking the time to stop and take pictures. I suppose that's what really counts.

Oh well, I suppose we are simply seeing a Nic that's evolving and moving forward with his life and I guess, I'll need to step up the pace if I want to keep up and continue admiring from afar smile

I know it´s a very sappy thing to say here, in a fan forum of all places, but it´s the plain truth... I don´t care how this man looks, as long as he looks healthy and contented, which I´ve got to note he unfortunately does not at present. This is what worries me, not the fact that he´s aging more or less gracefully than his peers.

After all, getting older is only a sing that we´re alive right?

(That comes from a woman who does not even dye her grays, LOL!)

I like the beard. Me thinks that Nicolas will look more and more distinguished the older he gets if he stays healthy.

. But, I suppose, he can't stay young forever. I look at Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey and Brad Pitt, who are all older than Nic... they just seem to be aging gracefully - if there's such a thing. Oh Well...
