You know what? You have to devote a lot of time to find a pic of him smiling frankly... I did an image search for some pics of Nic smiling that could mark a stark contrast with the one I posted originally.... I wanted to show both his Charlie & Donald sides... I googled "Nicolas Cage smile(s)/laugh(s)/grin(s)" for some minutes... only got a few diminutive results which didn´t match the size, so I gave up the search and changed the subject of the post.
But, ladies and gentlemen, I´m gonna make up for that one. Here you go:

If I saw that look in his eyes in person, I'd automatically go into clucking 'mother' mode to make him feel all better.

Haunted is a perfect way to describe his look. Why does he look so sad these days? Only a handful of pics have I seen with him really smiling. The rest are just his smile that he gives when he's working.
