Yes, Mara Nick did play the mandolin in the film Capt. Corelli for real. Which I had to say he did a wonderful job in playing that wonderful instrument. I love how it sounds. Davey Johnstone (Elton John's long time band member) plays many guitar instruments as well as the mandolin. It's an beautiful instrument.

No, Nic doesn´t play any musical instrument (I´ve read that he tried the saxophone to no avail) even though there are so many musicians in his family... But I bet he thinks/feels in musical terms, that his life is imbued with music. In interviews he talks about music like it was under his skin.

Hi Mara,
Love those pics of Nick with his cat Louis. So cute both of them! lol. Oh, that red piano reminds me (much later), of Elton John's The Red Piano Shows in Las Vegas he did 7 years now. He just finished his run just recently. Cool to see another RED piano! Can Nick play piano?

ILIA, Nic had a cat back then called Louis.

He was very attached to his cat, and brought it with him to the Vampire´s Kiss shooting in New York City in ´87. He rehearsed and coreographed his role in his hotel room with Louis, then went to the set and the pet remained there, making things a mess... But Nic wouldn´t let the hotel staff tidy up the room to not disturb the cat, so when the director of the movie went to the hotel to discuss stuff with Nic, he would find the room ramsackled by the little creature... on top of it, the poor man was allergic to cats, LOL!

At least that´s what you can hear in the Vampire´s Kiss DVD audtio commentary.

I've sat here looking at this pic for a good 5, maybe 10 minutes and I'm lost for words. I've looked through all the emoticons, and none of them fit either...I've never seen this before mara, you've found a treasure!

Its something about the combination of tenderness, the kitten and his toes in socks curled up the window frame, with the yummy manliness (not sure if that's the right word) that Nic oozes, his arms especially always have that combo for me, his black T shirt and long legs in jeans, like a silhouette...and very sensuous... perfect word mara...his eyes, his lips, his fingers...the open piano....oh help someone edit this before I make more of a public display of myself!
Saved and on my phone wallpaper immediately!

Something else....this is 2 decades ago right? I can really see today's Nic in this photo too!

(Again: sorry to be doing this to everybody at their office´s desks... I´m a victim of Nic´s charm too, I mean: I´m at the office right now and I´m not supposed to be loggin in a social site here, hehehe...How am I supposed to go on working after this? Oh well I´m quitting anyway....)
